Welcome to the Chicago History Online Library! The Library is a supplement to my main blog, The Chicago History Journal and continues my mission to provide links to websites relevent to Chicago history. The Library will primarily feature digitized non-fiction books on Chicago history. Each post will feature a book or digital library. In addition, there is a page dedicated to classic Chicago literature available online plus specialty pages focusing on select authors. The section marked “My Library” is a work in progress and will be a record of the Chicago history books in my personal library.
A few years ago, I became fascinated with Chicago’s history. I am not a historian, a scholar or a teacher. Call me an “interested party” with a strong desire to share the fun. The Library is in its infancy so please excuse the sparce pages. It will grow quickly, I suspect. My hope is that you will find something of interest to read or discover a great online resource for study.
WELCOME…The Library is Open

Hi,
I am a cultural studies researcher currently writing a PhD dissertation. I am interested in the Chicago Columbian exposition of 1893. I will be so grateful if you could provide me with illustrations and any material on Arab dancers and acrobats, namely Moroccans, who took part in this event.
I’ll be very delighted to stay in touch if that’s convenient for you.
Best Wishes.
Thanks for stopping by, but that really isn’t something I do. I’m afraid you will have to dig for them yourself, but there are many Internet sites on the Expo.
