One of the most universally popular topics in Chicago history is the Columbian Exposition of 1893. Even today it captures the imagination. The publishing of Devil in the White City by Erik Larson introduced the fair to a whole new generation of readers and history enthusiasts and sparked an interest in all things old Chicago.
